Driving in Costa Rica
Everything you need to know about driving in Costa Rica for a hassle-free vacation.
One of the common misconceptions about Costa Rica is that it’s super quick and easy to get around by road. You can look at a map and check out some distances between places and think you’re all set to get wherever you want in the space of a morning. After all, Costa Rica is famously a small country packed with many interesting things.
But looking at a map and checking out distances isn’t the same as actually being on the ground and being in the driving seat. A distance of, say, 50 miles in Costa Rica is completely different to 50 miles in the United States, Canada, Europe, or wherever you’re used to driving.
