This jungle resort outside the town of Puerto Jimenez is perfect for nature and adventure-lovers of all types who still require that familiar touch of luxury that the Hilton name ensures.
What to Expect at Botanika Osa Peninsula
- Hilton-level comfort and style. Botanika Osa Peninsula is the first Hilton-associated hotel in this remote part of Costa Rica, famous for its eco-lodges. A stay here gives you access to the wild and beautiful Osa Peninsula while retaining the level of comfort you desire.
- Easy access to Puerto Jimenez. Botanika Osa Peninsula has access to life outside of the resort, unlike most hotels in this part of Costa Rica. The town of Puerto Jimenez is close by, with restaurants and shopping available.
- Access to nature and adventure. The Osa Peninsula is Costa Rica's most beautiful and remote area. Staying at Botanika gives you easy access to all the treasures of the area, including pristine rainforests, world class fishing, and more.
What Not to Expect
- A boutique feel. Botanika Osa is easily the most "resort-like" hotel on the Osa Peninsula, and with 43 rooms and suites, it's also one of the largest.
- Too much in the way of nightlife and entertainment. Although the most "resorty" hotel in the region, and the fact that it's close to the town of Puerto Jimenez, this is still a very quiet part of Costa Rica where the focus is on natural attractions rather than man-made ones.

Explore the Unspoiled Rainforest at Botanika Osa Peninsula
The Botanika Osa Peninsula by Hilton is a true rarity on Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. Opened in 2022, it's the very first (and so far, only) branded resort in this most remote and wild part of the country. Formerly the Crocodile Bay Resort, the hotel now renamed, rebranded, and refurbished to Hilton standards to provide a comfortable escape on the Osa Peninsula for guests of all types.
Located on over 40 acres of stunning tropical gardens adjacent to the waters of the Golfo Dulce and the Crocodile Bay marina, Botanika offers 43 air-conditioned rooms and suites, perfect for resting after a long day exploring the rainforests or enjoying the ocean.
A Remote Resort
Botanika is the most resort-like hotel on the Osa Peninsula. Guests will be able to enjoy and utilize a range of amenities, from the lagoon-style swimming pool to the jacuzzis, wellness center, kids club, and business center. They can also take advantage of the onsite kayaks, boogie boards, and paddle boards.
The concierge at Botanika is always on hand, and can help guests arrange their tours and excursions around this remote part of Costa Rica. The pristine rainforests and beaches of the Corcovado National Park are within easy access, as are the waters of the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean. Botanika comes with its own deep-water harbor, which will serve as a hub for marine adventures like sport fishing and whale watching.
Other activities available at Botanika include volunteering experiences like sea turtle conservation, mangrove kayaking, and more.
World-Class Fishing For All Abilities
But it's the fishing that draws people to Botanika, formerly know as Crocodile Bay Resort. With the most extensive professional sportfishing team in Central America, anglers of all abilities will find themselves in onshore and offshore paradise. And that's not even to mention the fly fishing, surf fishing, and kayak fishing available at Crocodile Bay.
Some fish that live in the waters around Crocodile Bay include marlin, sailfish, dorado, tuna, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, bluefin trevally, sierra mackerel, tripletail, and grouper, depending on the time of the year. In addition, anglers in the know consider this area one of the world’s best destinations for roosterfish.
Other Activities Available At Crocodile Bay
Other activities outside of fishing are available at Crocodile Bay Resort. This is the Osa Peninsula, after all, home of the famous Corcovado National Park. In addition, it's easy to arrange a guided hike from Crocodile Bay.
And then there's Puerto Jimenez itself. The town is close to the resort - only a few minutes walk away. It's a great place to explore, do some shopping, and maybe grab something to eat, although that might not be needed, as a stay at Crocodile Bay means meal-inclusive at the onsite restaurant.
Close to Puerto Jimenez
The hotel offers a quick shuttle service to and from town - so guests can also check out local shops and restaurants if they wish. This is a rare thing on the Osa Peninsula, where most hotels are far more isolated in the middle of the rainforest.
And talking of eating out, the hotel comes with its very own Tierra a la Mesa restaurant. Tierra a la Mesa serves traditional and innovative land-to-table and fresh seafood dishes. There's also the Driza bar, perfect for cocktails and sundowners with its own modern menu that includes tapas, ceviche, Peruvian-style “tiraditos,” healthy fresh salads, and the best burgers in town.
If you're looking to experience the Osa Peninsula while retaining the comfort of a Hilton-branded resort, then Botanika is your perfect vacation spot.
Get Your Catch Prepared For Your Dinner
Not surprisingly, the restaurant maintains a strong focus on seafood, and you can even get your catch prepared for your dinner. So whether you want tasty ceviche, fresh sushi, or your fish grilled to perfection, your catch can be prepared as you wish. And, of course, you can always choose the fresh fish selections at the restaurant itself, accompanied by delicious local produce.
