JW Marriott Guanacaste Is Featured in These Trips
If you want to stay at JW Marriott Guanacaste we recommend you to check out
the following trips:
A Resort Nestled on the Pacific Coastline
JW Marriott is a sizeable hacienda-style luxury resort that stands out among the hotels in the Tamarindo area of Guanacaste. This beachfront property is a fantastic way to sit back and enjoy a top-notch Costa Rican vacation with direct access to the ocean.
The JW Marriott Resort has a privileged location in Guanacaste. Steps away from the beach, it’s half an hour from Tamarindo beach town and a 1.5-hour drive from the Liberia International Airport.
A Laid-Back Vacation for All Travelers
The JW Marriott comprises 330 rooms set on nearly 4,500 acres of gray sand beaches and dry tropical forest. Due to its strategic location, the family-friendly resort is pretty isolated and at least half an hour from the nearest town. This is why it provides top facilities and activities for its guests.
The three-story resort forms a U-shape around its massive ocean-view swimming pool with hidden lounge nooks and courtyards. Like the rest of the resort, guestrooms are decorated with luxurious Spanish furnishing and modern accents that create an atmosphere to rest.
In addition, the well-kept grounds showcase some of the best local flora and fauna, and animals like parakeets and iguanas are familiar sights.
Combining its proximity to the Pacific with the modern hospitality comforts, this is a place to leave your worries behind. The Marriott has you covered whether you want to only lounge by the pool or pumps it up with sports and exercise.
Expansive Beachfront Pool Area
The JW Marriott’s pool area is probably one of the largest in Central America, as it is front and center. Surrounded by lounge chairs, this is where to take a refreshing dip or sunbathe.
Get moving and play some pool volleyball with the hotel’s equipment. Afterward, soak in one of the two hot tubs to release any tension in your muscles.
The pool is only steps away from the ocean, so make sure to visit to see the sunset from the front lines.
For the Youngest Travelers
JW Marriott has a kids’ club where the younger ones can enjoy activities for themselves. Movie nights, ping pong, chess, or foosball are some of the options. It’s open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and then from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
International Dining with Local Flavors
With four restaurants, two bars, and a café, guests can be sure there are options for various palates.
Mansita Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other dinner-only restaurants include Sabanero SteakHouse, offering a hacienda-style ambiance and homemade bread, and Tamarine, offering Asian-fusion dishes with an outdoor seating area. Reservations are recommended for Sabanero and required for Tamarine.
In addition, the Azul Grill & Pool Bar offers lighter fare by the pool and Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner. Peruvian ceviche, pasta, and cocktails made with organic spirits are all some of your options.
The Sand Bar is also open for a quiet drink in the afternoons, and the Waves & Cream Café offers gelato for the hot Guanacaste days.
For those wanting more local options, there are many restaurants in the famous surfer town of Tamarindo.
Visit Three Nearby Beaches
One of Marriott’s best advantages is the fact that it's close to three beaches: Mansita Beach (right in front of the pool), Avellanas Beach (2.5 miles left of the resort), and Langosta Beach (3.1 miles from the resort). These offer various opportunities to ocean lovers.
Mansita, steps away from the main pool area, has rocks and nooks where crabs and fish hide. The view and sunsets are stunning from this spot, and if you go out early in the morning with snorkeling gear, you may catch all the inhabitants that live underwater.
If you face the ocean and turn right, there’s a space better suited for swimming after a short walk. If, instead, you turn left and walk, you'll find Avellanas Beach. The hotel’s beach club is on this beach, and it offers a perfect space to swim and practice water sports like surfing.
Watersports, Golfing, & Nature Trails
During downtime, there are a series of amenities to enjoy on-site.
One of the biggest attractions is the Hacienda Pinilla, an 18-hole golf course designed by Mike Young. Take your shot at this world championship golf course and head across a field that showcases the ocean views on the horizon and the surrounding dry forest.
A tennis court is also available for your use next to the golf course: simply book your space and hit the ball for a session.
If you want something more adventurous, mountain biking is just what you want. Get on one of the resort’s bikes (use is complimentary) and traverse the trails around the property to immerse yourself in Guanacaste’s nature. Keep your eyes and ears open—There may be howler monkeys moving in the treetops.
The beach club, located a 10-minute walk away from the main pool area, is excellent for enjoying watersports. First, rent a boogie board or surfboard and test the wave break. Then, simply sit back and enjoy sand and sunshine while sipping on a cocktail if you prefer.
If you want to relax truly, visit the JW Marriott Spa for a facial or take a yoga lesson on the beach during the mornings to fill yourself with energy.
There are also other activities you may enjoy with the resort fee, such as a sundown cocktail or a night of music around a bonfire. Make sure to check all the available activities during your stay.
