Welcome to Hotel Aguas Claras
Aguas Claras Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel a short walk away from the gorgeous Caribbean beach of Playa Cocles in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. You'll find Aguas Claras tucked away in a residential neighborhood of Puerto Viejo, surrounded by lush, tropical gardens that enhance this hotel's peaceful and bohemian ambiance.
Founded by Costa Rican artist Elizabeth Steinvorth in 2017, Hotel Aguas Claras takes the definition of boutique one step ahead. With a Caribbean-Victorian architectural style, each unit has unique decorations and a personal touch from the owner and her artist friends.
Bohemian Atmosphere
The hotel sits on 1.5 acres of tropical gardens affording each of the 12 suites and bungalows a degree of space and privacy. The hotel is designed in the Victorian Caribbean manner, with no two rooms alike.
Each room, however, does share some essential luxuries like king-size beds, fast internet, plush linens and pillows, organic toiletries, open-air showers, and more.
The soft, pastel hues of the bungalows contrast with the splashes of deep color from the decorations and gardens. Tropical bushes and palm trees peek out of every corner, and there are paths across the property to walk and breathe the ocean breeze.
Wellness and Relaxation
Wellness enthusiasts will find Aguas Claras a paradise. Enjoy a yoga class in the morning at the open-air yoga studio, or hit the local massage room for a soothing session.
The freeform pool is ideal for fighting the heat. Sit in the refreshing water with a signature cocktail from the restaurant, or lounge poolside with a book. Aguas Claras also has its beach club, DaLime, affording the most accessible access in Puerto Viejo to the Caribbean Sea. Between the pool and the beach club, with its all-day restaurant and bar, guests can style the day away and never leave the hotel's vicinity.
Explore the Costa Rica Caribbean
Guests who want to leave the hotel, though, should. Puerto Viejo is a beautiful town with a unique bohemian flavor combining the local and the international. So hop on one of the hotel's complimentary bikes, head into Puerto Viejo for lunch, or go to any other nearby beaches.
Aguas Claras is also close to various national parks, rescue centers, and other activities. Go kayaking, visit the Gandoca National Park, or take a cacao tour to learn about the Caribbean’s history. The area around here is also famous for its world-class surfing.
World-Class Dining
It’s open for all three meals of the day (breakfast is complimentary) and has a laid-back atmosphere that harmonizes with the rest of the hotel.
Papaya Room offers classic dishes from Puerto Viejo and fuses traditional flavors with international combinations. As a result, meals here tend to be fresh, creative, and tender.
And don't forget the DaLime restaurant either, at the beach club! This place will keep you full of snacks and a light lunch.
Guests seeking a boutique hotel, in the truest sense, is a part of Costa Rica often bypassed by international tourists; they will find a stay at Aguas Claras both relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. It's the perfect place to recharge the batteries.
