Beach Hopping & Snorkeling Overview
It's no secret that the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, is famous for its beautiful beaches. But many people come to Guanacaste and spend most of their time on the beach closest to their hotel. This is fine, there's no problem with that, but it's also great to experience other beaches around the province. Just to avoid some of that FOMO! So, to that end, we recommend a guided tour to check out four different, distinct beaches in Guanacaste, all relatively close to each other. Oh - and this tour also includes some snorkeling, if you're up for it!

Beach Fun Times Four
The four beaches in question are all relatively close to each other, but all attributes. Flamingo is known for its amazing sunsets, soft golden sand, and warm water. Playa Grande is a substantial natural beach, popular with surfers, where leatherback turtles come to nest. This is the largest Pacific coast leatherback nesting site in the Americas and, as such, is part of the Las Baulas Marine National Park. Those seeking some fun in the sun will love Playa Tamarindo - it’s an excellent beach for surfing, lessons, boogie boarding, and swimming. Finally, Playa Conchal is perhaps the most unique, with crushed shells covering the beach instead of sand. It's an excellent spot for snorkeling.
The exact order in which you visit these four beaches depends on the tides of the day - we try to accommodate that to give you the best experience possible and the safest times to get in the water. But visiting all these beaches in the space of a day will undoubtedly allow you to decide what you prefer.
Surfers and nature lovers will love the pounding waves and natural isolation of Playa Grande. With their laid-back vibes, restaurants, and activities, Lovers of beach towns will choose Tamarindo as their numero uno. Sunset and sand people will dig Flamingo, while snorkelers and instagramers will feel most at home visitng Conchal.
But whatever type of beach lover you are, you're going to enjoy the ride and the experience of checking them all out. And you never know - you might find your paradise to stay in on your next Costa Rican vacation.
