In order to study the biodiversity found in the canopy of trees, scientists rigged large trees with climbing gear, cables and ladders. This allowed them to swing from one tree to another over gorges, abysses and water in order to study greater areas of the forest. In the process they discovered that this was a ton of fun!!

Canopy Rio Piedras is the only tour in the Panamanian Atlantic coast only 80 minutes from Panama City. These exhilarating programs allow anyone to safely experience the adrenaline rush of swinging from one huge tree to another like Tarzan.

At the Canopy site, an expert guide will help you dawn the harness and safety equipment and provide a detailed explanation of what to do, what to expect and how to make your experience truly extraordinary! When you are prepared you will hook your harness to the cable, and to your amazement you will be FLYING! The platforms will be located over 100 feet high and up to 450 feet apart, definitely enough to give anybody an adrenaline rush!

Please note: This tour is recommended only for people able to participate in moderately strenuous activity. This is an action adventure program. Light, comfortable clothing is suggested. This tour is not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo. A risk waiver is provided on site.
