Why Costa Rican Vacations Loves Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel:

The Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel is a small, intimate, luxury eco-lodge on the edge of one of Costa Rica's lesser-known but still beautiful Tenorio Volcano National Park. Located in northern Costa Rica, around an hour west of Arenal Volcano, the Tenorio Volcano National Park is 129 square kilometers of primary cloud forest and rainforest. It's home to many of Costa Rica's wildlife, including Baird's tapir, Central America's largest land mammal.
The hotel sits on 150 acres of protected tropical rainforest. Guests can explore the forest and access the Rio Celeste river from where the hotel gets its name. The Rio Celeste is a phenomenon in itself, a bright blue color. Guests can swim in the river and enjoy the stunning waterfalls.

A Boutique, "Retreat-Like" Experience:

The hotel comprises 26 private casitas (bungalows). All the casitas come with A/C, cable TV, hairdryer, safe, minibar, coffeemaker, indoor/outdoor shower, plus an intimate jacuzzi.  The amenities at the Rio Celeste Hideaway include complimentary WiFi in the lobby and restaurant. Guests can also enjoy the large swimming pool and small, surrounding jacuzzis.
The Studio Spa offers a range of different massages and treatments for guests who need some "me time" and pampering after getting wet in the river and forest.

Dining Options

Due to the remote, rainforest location of the Rio Celeste Hideaway, dining options in the area are few and far between. Luckily, the hotel has an excellent option for dining. You'll find the Kantala Restaurant serving breakfast (included in the nightly rate), lunch, and dinner in an outdoor environment, surrounded by pools featuring koi carp. Menu offerings include a modest Costa Rican cuisine fused with international influences. The Cantina Delirio Bar & Lounge is a relaxing space for aperitifs or after-dinner drinks. And then there's the Blue Moon swim-up pool bar for fresh tropical cocktails and lighter lunch fare - perfect for relaxing in the afternoon after a morning hike in the forest. With advanced notice, the kitchen staff can accommodate special dietary restrictions and food allergies.

An Authentic Taste of Nature:

Aside from hiking and the river, the Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel offers several activities for their guests. You can hike alone or with a guide, who can identify and talk about the various birds, insects, and plants you'll see. Tubing on the Rio Celeste is also a must-do. The bright blue waters also have class I and II rapids, perfect fun for the family. Horseback riding is also available, plus visiting a nearby chocolate farm. Another highlight of the hotel is its creation of a tapir reserve designed to protect Central America's largest land mammal.
