Welcome to Aninga Lodge
The visit to Tortuguero starts with a pick-up from your San José hotel; you drive through the stunning Braulio Carrillo National Park, stop for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, and then go to the Caribbean canals of Tortuguero! Next, glide through the canals by boat to arrive at Aninga Lodge, where you will be greeted with a buffet lunch.
Tranquil Setting
Aninga has 32 clean, simple bungalows scattered across the grounds, which is an excellent hotel if you are looking for a no-frills wildlife experience. Rooms come with one double bed, a single bed, and an en-suite bathroom. No TVs, air conditioning is included. Buffet-style dining is included in the prices.
Beautiful Wildlife
Tortuguero has various habitats such as rainforests, mangroves, lagoons, swamps, and beaches, allowing you to view sloths, dart frogs, monkeys, caimans, crocodiles, and over 300 different types of birds! In addition, Tortuguero is a great place to go sport fishing for Tarpon and Snook!
Included in your stay is transportation to the town of Tortuguero, where you can enjoy the Turtle Museum, water canals, and Tortuguero National Park (at an additional cost). The guides are amiable, with a wealth of information to share with you.
In addition, you may wish to include the Turtle Nesting tour at a rate of $30 pp (turtle season is July – October), which is a great way to watch Green Sea Turtles lay their eggs or see the newborn turtles hatch and make their way down the beach to the ocean.
